The E-Mentor Program provides valuable mentorship by pairing student event planners with industry professionals.

SEPA has a database of event professionals worldwide, each with a minimum of five years of experience, who have volunteered to mentor our student members.

The program takes place three times a year — spring, summer and fall. Once assignments are emailed out, participants have three months to develop a mentor-mentee relationship via e-mail communication. Frequency of communication is determined by the participants, however we encourage no more than one email exchange a week and no fewer than two email exchanges a month. To receive credit for the program, participants must complete a survey at the end.


Event professionals, including past mentors, may apply for a mentee three times a year. When applying, professionals indicate their areas of expertise. This information is used to pair them with a student whose interests match their expertise.
