By navigating to Resources on the left navigation, members have access to a series of online modules. The modules are divided into sections, each with educational videos and corresponding quizzes that members may complete to earn credit.

Once a month we host a thirty-minute Google Hangout with a leading industry professional. Hangouts are limited to eight participants, a moderator, and the guest of honor. Participants have the opportunity to “Hangout” with the professional and may ask any questions. The session is not live-streamed or recorded and is exclusive to members.

To receive credit for participating in a Hangout, members must submit the post survey that will be emailed to them after the Hangout. Once the member has submitted the survey, they must update their Accreditation Tracker.

Members receive 1 credit per Hangout participation.

In General, what is Google Hangouts?

Google Hangouts is a communication platform developed by Google which includes instant messaging, video chat, SMS (short message service) and VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) features.

What happens on a Hangout?

During a Hangout participants have the opportunity to “Hangout” with an event professional and ask our guest of honor questions. (i.e How did you get started in the event industry).

How often do Hangouts take place?

Hangouts take place once a month. For upcoming Hangouts, please refer to the events calendar.

How long are Hangout sessions typically?

Hangouts are typically thirty minutes.

How do I participate in a Hangout?

To participate in a Hangout, please click here. Once you select the Hangout that interest you, fill out the  “Reserve Your Seat” form.

What is the maximum attendance for a Hangout?

Hangouts are limited to eight participants, a moderator, and the guest of honor.

Is there a waiting list I can join if the Hangout I want to participate in is full? If so, how would I be notified about the opening spot?

Yes, in the “Reserve Your Seat” form there is a option to select “Join Waiting List”.

If a seat opens up a SEPA team member will contact you via email with the instructions on how to join the Hangout.

How can chapters use Hangouts as a tool?

A way chapters could use Hangouts as a tool is streaming a Hangout during a meeting. Have a officer fill out a “Reserve Your Seat” form, and once its time for the Hangout out to start project the Hangout so that all your members can be a part of the experience.

Can I view past Hangout sessions?

No, Hangout sessions are not recorded.

Is there a cost affiliated with participating in a Hangout?

No, Hangouts are free to members and are provided to you as a resource.
